Law #16 Colonial Protection Act:
- The aim of this bill is to guarantee the political freedom and safety of New York's various colonies.
I. Area of Effect
- This bill will effect all colonies of New York and the region of New York itself.
II. Superseding Colonies Laws
- A law passed within a colony may not be superseded by a law passed within New York or by the Constitution of New York itself.
III. Colonial Government
- All colonies have the right to choose their own form of government, the region of New York may not forcefully interfere with the way a colonies government is run.
IV. New York Regional Assembly Elections
- All W.A. nations within any colony of New York will be counted to help determine the number of seats available on the Regional Assembly of New York.
V. Colonial Organization
- All colonies of New York that request a section on the forum will be granted one.
VI. Secession
- A colony of New York may secede from the region of New York. A colony may only secede if a majority of the people who vote on the topic of secession agree to secede; popular sovereignty.
VII. Conclusion
- What good is a colony in a state of unrest? If our government cannot keep our colonies happy and they wish to secede peacefully then the region of New York should let the colony secede peacefully. A colony seceding would be rather pointless due to the fact that they gain more from staying under the control of New York, but the option should be available; this is more of a safe guard to protect the native peoples and their interests.
