Please read over Getting Started if you haven't yet. ------------- Our 5th goal stated; "V. Integrate and promote the role of political parties within the government and region of New York." The Constitution is still only partly ratified, so i'd like to discuss possible ways in which political parties a play a role in the region and political process. current Proposed draft by GellThe traditional way is to be considered a candidate for say "President", one has to be nominated by a Party. So each party chooses a candidate to run, then as a whole everyone votes on a President. Now currently with the assembly at 9, plus the four other executive offices, I think making a new President position is un-needed. So my only other idea is to establish a "Head of the Assembly" that would at as a figure head for the assembly, kinda like a 3 branch to the founder and delegate as a regional figurehead. The HoA would be one of the elected assembly members, and would be chosen by the party that holds the most assembly seats. Of course the problem becomes for this and basically any other party-themed idea is currently we're the only party so i'm hoping if we can get the forum active maybe other parties will form. (Side note does the "Constitutionalist Party" still exist at all?) What do you guys think? What other ways could parties play a role in the region & government?
